Each stand is composed of Hardwood blocks "attached" to floor with spikes. On top of each block there are 4 spring-loaded "feet" made by Solid-Tech. On top of that block, sits another hardwood block and on top of that a monoblock (perhaps foam under them).
Follow Ups:
Solid-Tech Feet of silence, MDF platform, Solid-Tech Isoclears (or foam pucks), amp. Cheap fix.
Second best: amps directly on top of bed of foam pucks from Blue Circle. Cheaper fix.
The spikes added nothing. The two boards sounded worse than one. MDF sounded better than hardwood.
Excellent! Can you tell us what sonic benefits where had with the two setups you found to be best?
Thanks for sharing your findings

Wider soundstage for sure. Bass seemd to be crisper.

Only if you aren't happy with the results.

A novice in basic electronics; verify anything I post with an expert.
Not at all IME.
The better a component is isolated from the environment usually translates into better sound. Of course, the key to tweaking is to experiment and find what works best in each situation so U may find that the spring loaded feet work just fine or that additional isolation material/techniques are required.
Let us know how it turns out.

I'm with Dave on this. It sounds like an effective isolation scheme.
I suggest that you experiment with different materials to find the combination that works best for your set-up and personal preference.
You might try using just three of the supports in different placement configurations to see if one sounds better to you than the others. And experimenting is free!

... it sounds good to you!
I might prefer a different stand but why would you care?
No, it's not overkill, but I hope it looks nice as well.
