When JJ first came out with their 12AX7, it looked to be a copy of the infamous Tele ECC803s which resembles a 6dj8 internally (frame grid construction). I remember asking at the CES booth they had if indeed it was, but no one spoke English and I got no real reply.

imho,those JJ frame grid "12Ax7"s sound great and are a huge bargain that not too many know about. anyone experimenting with 12AX7 rolling, check those out.

If only they could build them like that.
I would like to think New Sensor and Shug would light a fire under JJ's butts at some point. Hopefully they aren't just pretty boxes, but I'm not holding my breath.

    tubes rebranded as TFKs was quite normal! Ei small tubes were often labelled as TFKs and i own a flock TFK ECC801s labelled twin triodes which truly are GE 6201!
