Wasn't there also a Lirpa-phone.
Remember reading something about it - WAY back in a Audio Magazine; April issue.
I actually thought that was an early, linear video recorder -- which I believe I've seen before(??).
Speaking of videotape: Did I ever tell all y'all that I once worked for Fred Pfost's son, Dale? Fred was a member of the (small) team at Ampex (which I believe was led by Ray Dolby) that deveoped the first really practical, rotating head video recorder, the Ampex MM-1000. I got to meet Fred at his home in Los Gatos, CA in 1996. Dale and I both happened to be "between gigs" at the time. Fred was a truly charming fellow, and I am glad I got to get to know him, even if only a wee bit.
all the best,
mrh
