Just curious
Follow Ups:
any other tube is possible :)
40mA and F => 800hz
What is the highest working voltage?
The transformers frequency response is flat at 800Hz, 40mA is the dc current.
I did not tested the maximum dc voltage but i can test up to several kV if needed, for now at least 600V. For better phase response the design is made from 400Hz and up.
They will go in 801A/eimac75tl amps driving a pair of front loaded horns.
What operating point would you be running the 75tl?
Around 600V @ 40mA
0.04 * 600 = 24 watts (75 watt max for he 75tl)
With the 75tl you could consider doubling the plate voltage to 1200 volts. As it is, running a 75tl at 1/3 dissipation is way down in the curves. The tube will have less distortion if you can bring up its operating point and it will make more that the 6 to 8 watts this operating point will give you.
I know there is the whole "cheap 300b" operating point for the 75tl, but these tubes are getting more rare and a JJ 300b is cheaper than the Eimac now. I do understand the fun of using the Eimac tubes, having both a 304tl amp and a 35t amp in operation at the present (both in the +Kilovolt range).
Is your 35T SE or push-pull?
Do you have a schematic of it?
The 35T is very symmetrical and should sound really good.
How to handle the high amp-factor is the question.
Thanks! -Dennis-
