I said the conductor is directional. The shield, if there is one, is a separate issue.

  Power cords are not directional using AC as AC goes in both directions. DC is not directional either as wire does not act differently with direction. In fact how could anyone think a wire is directional?

    They're all in AC circuits - speaker cables, interconnects, power cord, fuses, HDMI cables. They're all directional. DC is obviously directional. We only care about the electrons that are traveling toward the speaker, you can ignore the ones traveling away from the speaker since they don't affect the sound. It's very simple, it's not complicated.

      If wire is directional it means they change chemistry only in one direction- NOT!

        You apparently haven't been following the conversation on wire directionality. Wire is measurably physically and electrically asymmetrical. It's also audibly asymmetrical. That's why we use the term directionality. The metal conductor is comprised of crystal structures that become deformed during manufacture. Follow?

    Actually the 60Hz AC electric charge vibrates back and forth and hardly moves at all down the wire.
    The power energy, Electromagnetic Wave, on the other hand moves in one direction from the source to the load at near the speed of light in a vacuum.
    Is a power cord that uses stranded wire directional? If it is I doubt you could hear any difference. Is a power cord that uses solid core wires directional? Many in the know will say yes.
