Circa 1974, I stood very close to the stage in Pembroke Hall, Brown University, Providence RI USA. I was very distressed to witness what terribly bad shape Sandy Denny was in.
It was the only time I had ever seen anyone do that stereotypical heroin-addict thing, of scratching at their own face.
It was a Fairport Convention revival tour.
I have not been able to find an online listing of it.
Not too long after that, in the same small hall, I saw and heard a comparative unknown from New Jersey, Bruce Springsteen. I thought he was very competent. But I also could not discern anything in the music that was not borrowed from Bob Dylan or Van Morrison.

And, she seems much better known the past few years due to
her incredible catalog being used in so many film and TV scenes.

A major "Whoops!" for forgetting to post that exact same YouTube video link in my original post and a major thanks to you for posting it.
I was unaware of her music until I purchased the February 2007 issue of Mojo Magazine. The free CD that came with it had her recording of "Little Girl Blue" on it.
Of the CDs that came with the Mojo magazines that I purchased over the years, it was one of the best ones.

Saw that and substituted "us" for "you"!
And of course got this:

One of my favs - the 12" 45RPM UK pressing one of the sweetest sonic recordings ever.
LGB is from Simone's debut on Bethlehem, still one of my favorites by her!
Her story and career are legendary and she means so much to so many
for so many myriad reasons that propel her way past the "jazz" handle
she started her professional debut under.
