I dig the heavy stuff. Doom, stoner, desert, etc., but I cannot take that style of singing. Not sure why, but I find it ridiculous sounding. I've tried, really I have. Can't do it.

  For your consideration, heavy bands I've come to like:
  Causa Sui
  Kyuss
  Naxatras
  Oysterhead
  And of course, Sleep.
  
  For something really different, try 'Bohren & Der Club of Gore'. Ex heavy players doing jazz film noir style. I love it!
