Thanks. I have MGI IMP. I read on this forum that many members consider bypassing the fuse as being a big improvement to the sound quality. The risk of blowing the fragile ribbon tweeter shouldn't exist with the old MGI IMP, so I'm not sure why do you think I should not bypass the fuse. What's the risk? (I've never blown a fuse during my constant use of these Maggies over the years)

your right it your speaker... your tweeter wire is like a human hair...an over 30years old...go fo it...i say a working tweeter with a fuse sounds better than.....no working tweeter....look all a fuse is ....is a small wire...just put a biger wire in..goodluck
I have the fuses removed from my Maggies, but with hindsight, I would have kept them. It's really isn't a strong tweak, like a lot of people say that it is. I'd take the added protection over the 'increase' in sound.
