They are switching amps and deliver a ton of power.
That power will actually help your quality at your lower volume listening levels.

"That power will actually help your quality at your lower volume listening levels."
This statement makes no sense. Power has nothing to do with quality and by definition low volume means the amp is delivering low power.
for "scientific" comparison. But, my ears tell me that when I've upped the watt's ...
(with the rest of the system not changing and of course there are plenty of variables that could effect my anecdotal evidence)
.... at similar "lower volumes", like low enough to carry on a conversation while the music plays, stage is deeper, and bass is stronger.
Now I'm not saying bigger watts means better sound.
I'm just saying that all things being equal, like quality of amp, and characteristics imparted (tubey, dynamics, etc) then bigger watts seems (to me) to improve lower listening levels too.
Maybe the bigger amp doesn't have to work as hard (proportionally) as a smaller powered one?
I don't really know why, I'm just reporting my observations, Yes, albeit from a relatively small anecdotal sample of comparisons. But specifically, I had tried the one the poster had mentioned.

Over 50 years of listening (my present day observations mean less than bupkes due to age) have lead me to conclude for one reason or another that when an amp(s) are driven 'hard', and of course not anywhere near clipping, the resultant sound is better than when they merely coast.
Thanks to all,
I'll keep you informed of results when I have tryied the new unit

Gerard
