What I'm thinking is that if you follow the path of the original aluminum woofer wire with aluminum foil of the proper thickness, you should be able to reproduce both the original mass (for the right resonance point) and the original impedance (for the crossover and to maintain efficiency) with the desired trace width (determined by I don't know what voodoo, but the 1.7 woofer might serve as a guide). Then all you have to do is cut the aluminum foil, I believe it can be cut by hand and glued with the spray adhesive and then Milloxaned. The only diff with the tweeter would be no Milloxane (I think).

I believe that this is the way they do it, apparently it doesn't make economic sense to etch the aluminum coil on a large diaphragm. I'm thinking that you run the strip up, then flip it over itself and run it over, then flip it over itself again and run it back down. I'd have to take another look at the MMG tweeter to see whether they do that, or cut the pattern out of a sheet.

Then, you could go in business selling foil upgrade kits to the rest of us!

So i think my work was good,an the QR sounds good you just got to put the polepeace in the back ,i go with PG polepeace in front,sound wise,just me,i got in to Magnepans in the 80s i was in the Audio Biz,had lot of speakers,an walket Away from the Mpan,i got better sound out of miney other speakers.But then PG came a long an put the SMGa Xover in the other twoways an i had to see if the 3db more output worked i am a tube man at hart, well it made BIG Diff as 3db would in any setup.
well i have done MG2,MG2c MG1.4,an would like to do a pr of MG2.5Rs that why i got the 2.5 my thinking the 2.5 would be as good as you could get with the SMGa Xover setup.

Mr gun post on QR rewire so we no it well work!

I have the 2.7 which has both the old wires and new QR tweeter right next to each other.

Same magnets, same gap, nothing different. This can absoultely be done

  PG posted on the quasi ribbon rewire? I must have missed that. Thanks for mentioning it, I'll have to search for his post. (Not that I'll ever have time to actually convert a speaker, LOL.)

    Look at the QR, that just how mine looket,Freaks me out.It dropet 2-3db polepeace in font,polepeace in back 1db diff than wire. On the MG2c the tweeter are only half,like the MG2.5r,i though that would make it Eze,r
    but the QR is tufstuf,It pull off all in one peace,i put it down with 3m77 ,as for the mag line up there as you see room to move the Qr or wire for it to work i done about 10 rewires on tweeters an no matter thay have all came out better than stock.Well to me,Ha
