Need a used amp for around $1500 to drive Magnepan 3.3's.

Need some help from you guys.
I need an amplifier used for around 1500 that will be sufficient enough for my maggie 3.3's.

Had to sell my McIntosh mc352 due to some financial conditions.

I've been looking at the Odyssey amps. They're going for anywhere between 1150 to 1800 for the extremes. Any other amps I'm missing in my budget.

Any help would be appreciated.

Try the ARC D300, or Muse 150, or even the sonic Frontiers SFS80.

You could drive them to kingdom come with a pair of bridged Adcom GFA555 (or better still, 555II) easily obtained on Ebay, for considerably less than $1500. I'm fairly certain you could even swing it with a single 555 (in stereo mode) and it would only set you back about $500.00.
For several years I was driving a Tympani IVA with a pair of GFA555s with excellent results before going to Bryston 7BSTs, so I do know what I'm writing about.

I use a Rogue 88 Magnum. EXCELLENT
You can buy an 88 or 90 for $800. - $1100.

I'm having great success with my Krell KAV-250a driving my 1.6's. Can be found for about $1500 and will most definately not run out of power!

A Parasound HCA-2200II or the newer Halo A-21, both John Curl designs, are available under $1,500 used.

Innersound ESL-300 drove the bejeezus out of my 3.6s.

  You could have had mine for quite a few dollars less than $1500, but I just recently sold it to a fine gent here at AA. Now I need to actually ship the darn thing! Goin' out via FedEx some time next week.

    Can drive difficult loads with ease. Just don't use high capacitance speaker cables with it (like, say, Goertz or CAT V.)

      I used a Odyssey Stratos years ago with 1.6's and it just didn't cut it. Ran out of steam and compressed the soundstage quite a bit. Well move over Stratos, here comes the Innersound esl amp. The Innersound gripped the panels like no ones business and has plenty of reserve power and headroom to spare. Go for the Innersound recommendation and you won't look back!
