SRM rules!
Well... kinda... it still looks like a million bucks, but it is refusing to be tamed. And with Pogi gone I could be the one guy on the planet to still fart around with it.
Sorry, I don't do selfies, so this is the best I could do, and I had to stop to do even that. :)
Follow Ups:
Nice vintage tech ;-)
The reel to reel of bike computers.

Not bad, actually...
But now say something nice about my all-Campy setup, let us see what you are made of! :)
Ah... and while at it, also kick my 2011 Audi. :)
I only see 2 straps that go inside both sides of the hatch. And another to the left of the license plate going under the hatch.

I think Thule, Yakima and others make boot mounted racks.

I had a couple others, including the Yakima, and did not like it.That is is very similar.

Your rubber bike hold down straps are dead ringers for Thule.
If it isn't Thule, they are at least copying from one of the best!

...its lack of ratchets, so you have to pull the straps by hand - much less efficient.
But I guess you just can't get everything...
I bought it on ebay years ago, and I liked it so much I bought another one for a spare.I like the way it works and grabs the trunk lid, and on top of that it was inexpensive, I think I paid $49 for each.
There are six hooks, two more are on the top of the lid.
There are some nice looking racks that rest on the bumper, which makes it impossible to open the lid without some headache, with this one you can open it with a bike still on the rack - yes, you need to do it carefully, but it works.
I can take a better picture of it later, if you are interested.

I'm still envious of the absolute bargain price you paid for it.
Classic bike.
Nice car too!

I am now leaning towards giving it another try.
Yes, the biggest one, the Wahoo Roam.
I like it. Excellent screen for short sighted riders!

$329 is not a bad price, but expect now an angry call from my wife.Do you have the power meter? My SRM refuses to communicate with the PC8. I sent them both twice to the company, in both cases they claim they work. Bastards took my $200 - for service to replace the internal batteries... but could not make it work.
It's not that I care about my meager power... other than to laugh at it... but the PC8 will not calculate the calories without it.
I also liked your idea of placing the headlight under the bar, will try that.

Did you get the V2, newest version?
It has bigger memory and a few display and function upgrades over the original Roam.
I really like it over Garmin.
More readable. And almost everything is controllable via the Wahoo phone app. Easy.
The SRM power meter should pair up so long as it is working properly. As dshould Garmin or any other ANT hrm, speed and cadence sensors.
I really like the intuitive things Wahoo does, like your heart rate zones having different coloured backgrounds. You can see in my piccy above the green band for my heart rate. That's the colour for zone 2. You can do zone training and just work on staying in the right colour. Simple.
Navigation, if you want it is also excellent. If you get lost or want to go somewhere new you can get Wahoo to find the best route, and choose road, or bike path or off road options.

I can always use my phone for navigation, and I now study the area before going there, but who knows? I might decide to do something different.
I met today four guys who looked Indian or Pakistani, and they had nice looking bikes called Tweeter. So I looked it up, and it seems to be a cheap Chinese product, that is sold in Asia for under $1000... from the outside they had all the right stuff though - airdynamic frames, disc brakes, I think even the integrated cockpits... the works. My 7 yo bike looked ancient next to theirs. :)
No thanks.
There are no bargains.
I bought some supposedly good name Chinese carbon wheels. 3 warranty claims due to brake track failure later, I finally woke up and got rid of them.
Travelling at 50 - 60 - 70kmh with only Lycra between you and the road, you need to trust your equipment. You will enjoy the Wahoo.
Did you get Strava up and running?

I was able to use some of its facilities, just not with the SRM, but Jesus, man, 70kph??? Think of your grandkids!I agree on cheap bikes, especially the carbon types, there are too many things to go wrong with that material.
