Just posted on YouTube today.
"Who is Aleksandr Dugin?", you ask? He's the guy whom some in the West call "Putin's Brain", even though he's actually a philosopher and does not meet with Putin very much at all. In any case, the Bandera worshippers in Ukraine decided they wanted to take him out, but, in a typically Ukrainian messed up strike (remember that great counteroffensive last summer?), they planted a car bomb which blew up and killed Dugin's daughter, Darya Dugina, instead. (Of course, the Ukrainian SBU has attempted dozens of assassinations since the intensification of the 2022 Russia/Ukraine military conflict, which began when the Ukrainian coup regime, installed by the US, began its regular attacks in the Donbass against its ethnic Russian population in 2014.)
I had not been aware of what Tucker mentions in the introduction to this 20-minute video, i.e., that Biden has banned all of Dugin's writings from being sold in this country. (As Tucker says, you cannot buy them on Amazon!) Apparently, there are hardly any English translations of Dugin's books anyway.
So here is this short interview, in which Dugin explains how he sees the historical trends in the West (especially the Anglo-Saxon West) culminating in "trans-humanism". I found some of Dugin's remarks very interesting, especially in view of what I'd just written myself a day or two ago: "what we're seeing is the US Empire in decline, thereby adopting ever darker, Soviet-like policies towards its own population as well as towards the rest of the world". Note my choice of the word, "darker" compared to what Dugin says. OTOH, I'm not entirely sure as to what Dugin is getting at sometimes, although I love his references to Hollywood movies such as Terminator or The Matrix.

Which is to say, not at all.It looks like Tucker's gravy train nowadays is being a Putin stooge. But then again, that will do Carlson no harm in case of another Trump presidency.
Trump clearly admires all authoritarian leaders and their sort of "leadership" is what he covets. It will be harder to achieve in the USA that many countries, but clearly there are many willing to help him.

with letting voters decide in a fair contest?
Or are you afraid they would vote wrong so something must be done to save our democracy?
... unfortunately, that doesn't preclude them making a wrong choice.

Which is more than I can say for a sizable portion of Trump supporters.

Google Books and Union Bookstore were the first two sellers that popped up on a search for "alexander dugin books" There seem to be many of his books available so Tucker's wrong as usual.
Please provide a screen shot of your results. I searched on the same "alexander dugin books" phrase and got results which were mostly books ABOUT Dugin, not books BY Dugin. But, further down the results, I got old listings (from 2019). I would like to see if you got listings from 2022 or later, which is when all the sanctions would have started hitting.
Also, when I clicked on the actual links to books BY Dugin which came up in my search, I either got a dead link, a link to another book by somebody else, or a message saying, "This title is no longer available".
So, please, try to be a little more specific if you can, and stick to more current listings. If you can do this, then we can all celebrate how Tucker is "wrong as usual"! ;-)
Wow! Occam's razor perhaps? Could it be that Dugin's "masterpiece", published in 1997, has never been published in English? And it's very impressive to be on a first name basis with "Tucker", the guy who claims January 6 was a false flag operation. Ludicrous stuff Chris.
. . . any Dugin books being sold in the US since 2020 (or, more likely, 2022). If you can, I'll gladly eat crow on Tucker's behalf.
As for your January 6 comment, isn't it strange that a bunch of gun nuts descended on Washington that day to stage an INSURRECTION. But, strangely enough, they forgot to bring their guns! The only person shot was one of the protesters! - Quite the insurrection, wasn't it? LOL! And I suppose you believe that the FBI had no undercover involvement with the protesters? When questioned before congress, Christopher Wray refused to answer questions about FBI participation. So I'll ask the question right back at you: who is espousing ludicrous stuff?
There might be a back door way to find books that are retail "out of favor." Kind of like the old black market.
Actually, I'm amazed that a couple of inmates here have gotten their panties into a wad because Tucker claimed that 1) You can't buy Dugin's books on Amazon (at least not Amazon in the US) - I have checked this, and Tucker is correct on this point; and 2) Dugin's books are banned. Regarding the second point, a couple of nitwits here have contended that, if you can find any of Dugin's books for sale or listed somewhere, even if the banning didn't occur until the last couple of years (2022). So what do these people expect? That the banning is retroactive and all his previous books have to be found and burned? They just don't get it.
Ever notice how most Conspiracy theories turn out to be true?
lol!!! So you're claiming that Dugin's book was widely available in the U.S. from 1997 until January of 2021, and then magically, under the efficient work of the current administration, completely disappeared from the internet and elsewhere, poof! And re Jan 6, I have nothing to add - you make a fool of yourself just fine. You really have to start getting your news and geopolitical analysis from somewhere other than youtube. Paranoia is not a coherent world view.
. . . were placed on a sanctions list. I know it may be hard for you to keep up with the thousands and thousands of sanctions we've imposed on people and companies in Russia. If his books are sanctioned in the US, does that mean they suddenly disappeared from the internet all over the world? That's not very good logic on your part and certainly not a coherent world view! LOL!
Just try to find a book by Dugin you can buy right now from a US seller - it seems that you can't do it, so you blow smoke and resort to name calling. Same is true for the January 6 facts I listed - they offend your faith and you can't dispute the actual points, so once again, you resort to generalizations, blow smoke, and call someone a fool. Pretty weak stuff you've got there, although I have no doubt that it made you feel "real good" emotionally. Having been brainwashed, as you are, with the steady slop of Corporate Owned News yourself does not result a coherent world view either.
Finally, as long as you're throwing out shit to see what sticks, you make the lame (and false) assertion that I get all my news and political analysis from YouTube. Not so. In fact, I'm happy to compare the extent of my news sources to yours or anyone else's on this board. Sorry to have offended your delicate sensibilities - I recommend that you try to un-wad your panties and question the official narrative sometimes!
Oh my, Chris, there go the hinges. I'm quite sure all that made sense in your head, but then when you write it down, not so much. But look, whether Dugin has been subject to OFAC's SDN (Specially designated Nationals) list or not, and whether that ended up with his books not being easily obtainable (so he can't make money off their sale in the U.S), the question remains, why is this a concern to you, and to Tucker Carkson (aka, Putin's puppy dog). Dugin is widely known as a fascist, xenophobic, anti-Semitic, racist thinker, whose work has inspired Putin and like-minded fascist Russian nationalists.
It's really sad to see a mind unravel right in front of us. But hey, who doesn't enjoy some reality tv? 🍿
. . . just as Tucker contended. All I did was report what Tucker said - which seems to have triggered you for whatever reason.
BTW, if Dugin is "widely known" as a "fascist, xenophobic, anti-Semitic, racist thinker", then surely you'll have some actual evidence which you can quote. Or are you just parroting what some MSM guru of the "official narrative" has told you to think?
Oh well - Thanks for playing anyway! ;-)
Geez Chris, I thought you understood. When you post paranoid fantasies and cite Tucker Carlson as your credible source, the obligation is on you to prove it, not on me to disprove. So you would have to show that the book was widely available before, but not now. But ok, here goes: The Rise of the Fourth Political Theory, one of the only Dugin books translated to English, is available at Politics and Prose in DC for $19.95. But save your money and download it for free from Wordpress.com.
Regarding actual content, I have a non-commercially available translation of substantial portions of
Foundations of Geoplitics in my personal collection. See Book 2, Part 5: The Khazarian Question (specifically at the sub-heading "The Jews and Eurasia") for just a smattering of his anti-semitism.
What exactly does Dugin contend that you find so anti-Semitic? (Actual quotes would be appreciated - not just your usual generalizations. TIA.)
As for the first part of your post, please see my reply to srl1 above. In fact, here's an easy link to it:
Cmon Chris, don't be so intellectually lazy. I mean, I know you've been spoon-fed easy talking points from "Tucker" and his ilk for years. but that's not how serious stuff works. You've got to put in the effort. So here's an assignment for you: Read Dugin for yourself, like I have, and then come back to us and make your case for how he's not an anti-semite. Good luck.
And don't presume to give me assignments. In any case, I watched Dugin's interview with Tucker and didn't see any hint of anti-Semitism there. If you make the claim, the burden of proof is on you - don't let your laziness tempt you to try to weasel out of this. (In fact, I rather suspect that your assertion about Dugin's "anit-Semitism" was not derived from your own reading, but rather was spoon-fed to you from one of the usual MSM/CON gurus reading off a script.) ;-)
lol! So your point is that in an interview with Tucker Carlson that you watched on youtube, Dugin didn't say "Oh, and btw, I hate jews.". So QED? Really? Foundations is essentially his textbook, so you don't take one quotation out of it, and say "voila"! As I said, this is serious stuff requiring thoughtful contemplation. But I'll make an exception for you and give you what you apparently need, the oversimplified Cliff's Notes:
Dugin puts Jews in two baskets, the good Jews and the bad Jews. The good Jews are the ultra-Zionists who believe all Jews belong in Israel. (You see, this view is consistent with his own Ultra-nationalist view of Russia.). Bad Jews are those from the diaspora who have been influenced by the evils of western liberalism (e.g., democracy, market economies, individual rights and freedoms, etc.). These bad Jews are at least partly responsible for much of what has gone wrong in Russia and everywhere else.
There you go. Am surprised this didn't come up in the Tucker Carlson interview.
QED referred to your making an assertion about Dugin's "anti-Semitism" and then being too lazy to back it up in your previous posts. It didn't have anything to do with Dugin's interview with Carlson.
Now that you've replied in a bit more detail, I think it's fair to say that your evidence is a bit. . . uh. . . underwhelming. There are "good" and "bad" examples of people in every ethnic category. And it's rather telling that you're unable to find an actual quote which supports your assertion that Dugin is the prolific anti-Semitic writer you claim he is.
Oh dear, Chris. And Ezra Pound was deeply misunderstood, wasn't he? Maybe you should just find that rock and crawl back underneath it.
". . . Maybe you should just find that rock and crawl back underneath it."The essence of your argument laid bare for all to see and contemplate! ROTFLMAO! (Not to mention worthy of yet another QED!)

Guess my work here is done then...-.
SLL - do try to ignore him
Thanks, but I rather enjoyed it. He's an interesting combination of arrogance and ignorance. But he traffics in dangerous misinformation, so I feel compelled to provide my fellow inmates with the facts and truth when his stuff gets particularly egregious.
+1 understood
I haven't read his stuff only saw the Tucker interview so have no opinion yet.
as I explained to Chris, it doesn't lend itself to each quotes, but here's a paper that contains an extensive appendix with large, translated excerpts. Read it and decide for yourself:
https://digitalcommons.du.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=2516&context=etd
261 pages! And Dugin had nothing to do with that paper.
I didn't see quotes from Dugin. Not that I looked, sheesh.
Not sure you understand. The last 116 pages are his words (translated). I have a more extensive translation in hard copy, but the translations are consistent.
I found the Dugin video interesting but I never heard him say that his books were banned here.[Tucker]: "Biden has banned all of Dugin's writings from being sold in this country"
Any credible sources that can corroborate Tucker's claim ? Never trusted that guy ;-)

There are books ABOUT Dugin there, but no books BY Dugin. Granted, that doesn't prove that he's been banned, but it might lead one in that direction?
.
The article is kind of heavy on the emotional outrage, wouldn't you say?
- Dugin was dubbed "a fringe crackpot" by somebody or other. The article's author won't say who it was. But who cares? The author of the Daily Beast article clearly doesn't.
- "at least four of his books are currently available on the Amazon website" - Which Amazon website? Not the one I checked. And conveniently, the article's author doesn't provide a link.
- "Carlson left out the fact that Dugin was sanctioned by the U.S. Department of Treasury in 2015 for helping to recruit people to fight on behalf of Russian forces in eastern Ukraine." The fact is. . . Tucker is under no obligation to include that information. But in any case, the ethnic Russian Ukrainian citizens were being attacked by their own coup government (laced with Bandera-worshipping Nazis - Victoria Nuland's pride and joy), and the people in the Donbass had a right to defend themselves, especially after the massacre by Ukrainian Nazis of innocent people at the Odessa Union Trade Hall. (I think we just had the 2-year anniversary of this horrific incident.)
- "His daughter was also not simply an innocent bystander, but played an active role in pushing disinformation" - What disinformation? The Daily Beast author of course doesn't say. In any case, whatever it was, does it warrant her murder?
- ""What you're describing is clearly happening, and it's horrifying," Carlson said, before commiserating briefly with Dugin about "self-described liberals" canceling him by banning his book" - The Daily Beast's author completely missed the distinction which both Dugin and Carlson were trying to make between current liberalism (with its propensity for cancel culture) and classic liberalism. Carlson even described himself as a classic liberal.
- "Kremlin-controlled media reported on Carlson hailing Dugin as the "most famous political philosopher in Russia" who has supposedly been persecuted by Ukraine." LOL! SUPPOSEDLY been persecuted by Ukraine? Geez, do you think murdering Dugin's daughter doesn't count as persecution?
I'm afraid all this Daily Beast article did was to show the nut-case predispositions of the Daily Beast's own writers.
For anyone who wants a much more factual account of what has happened in Ukraine since the US-supported coup there in 2014, the following article is indispensable. It's a fairly long article, but it's worth taking the time to read and consider:
LMAO!!! Realclearinvestigations.com is your preferred source? Let me guess, your wife left you and your children won't take your calls!
. . . to try to tear down sources (without even reading the content!), rather than dispute actual points. LOL!
but I'm right about the wife and kids?
