My Khorns currently have Volti's wood horns with the BMS 4592mid 16ohm drivers, tweeter is a JBL 2404. Previously, i had the Martinelli Horns using the original drivers. I had Alks extreme slope crossovers and then later built the crossovers John Warren designed which I like and is closer to the AK networks. I think what I'm hearing from the Jubilee's is the time alignment of the drivers. I started experimenting last week with REW and a Xilica XD4080 DSP bi-amping the speakers, I got the woofer to mid time aligned but need to set the tweeter on top of the speaker about 17" back to time align or tri-amp the speakers.
I did hear an improvement and also used the PEQs to get rid of some of the peaks from the bass cabinet and horn section.
Here's a clip of REW spectogram data with a just my passive. You can see the time alignment issues as well as the bass hump. Some of that bass hump is the tube amp (too much cathode cap).
Follow Ups:
Were the Volti's time aligned when you got them? I had thought that they were pretty much 'plug and play'. Or if you modified them, what were you trying to achieve?
No, none of the horns would be time aligned with the bass cabinet including the original horn Paul Klipsch designed. I think its a little more complicated than that (getting a time aligned horn and ideal dispersion).
I think that is what I heard in the Jubilee's not to mention the bass(2-12") was a little quicker than the 15" driver in the Khorns. I could live with the bass if I could get the top end to match the Jubilee's.
Well, I can certainly recommend the Oris Orphean horns. They also use a BMS driver with a concentric tweeter. So the tweeter and Mid are perfectly time aligned. See link.....
They sound awesome with my Khorn Bass Bins. Certainly a lot cheaper than jubilee. Why don't you email Bert at Oris and run some of your questions by him They also have a forum that you could pose some of these questions. Bert is really into measurements of systems and I'm sure he like to see yours. I have had my Oris Horns about 8 years now and I don't even think about changing them.

I'd love to hear those horns but judging by your fish signature you are far north of me. I have owned my khorns since 1985, paid $1600 new back then. Purchased upgrades from Alk in 2005 including the Martinelli wood horns. I came across a used pair Volti horns and BMS 4592 mid drivers last year for the final upgrade to 2" compression drivers. I also removed the Alk extreme slope xovers and inserted a DIY pair of John Warrens xovers which are very good. Then i heard the Jubilee's recently and was shocked over the improvements, mostly in the timing. Doe's Oris have any plots of the setup with those crossovers? Are you using those crossovers as well or electrinic? Have you heard or compared to Volti audios horns with BMS drivers?
Funny, my fish signature is a Bonefish and the only place they are found in the continental U.S. is Florida. It's a Saltwater fish that likes warm water.I use the complete Oris Orphean System, which includes the 'M5' Passive crossovers for the Mid range and Tweeter both contained in one BMS Driver. I use an Active crossover for the Khorn Bass Bin and Horn, that is built into the Hypex Bass Amps.
I have never heard Volti, but am very much aware of the history of Volti... I remember when Greg of Volti got onto the Klipsch forum.. He started refinishing Khorns... He was mostly a woodworker back in those days and did a great job refurbishing cabinets.
What I would do if I were you, is get onto the Oris Forum and they will provide you with a lot of answers to your questions and provide you with a lot of plots of the Orphean System... If you asked on the forum if anyone had an Orphean System in Florida that they would be willing to audition, I'm betting you would have a good chance of getting to hear them.. The forum is : http://forum.bd-design.nl/
You'll have to register and get approved to post on the forum. The forum is actively monitored by the Owner of Oris Bert Doppenberg - He will most likely respond to all your questions.... they are located in the Netherlands.

Just got a plot sent to me from Bert.
They look pretty darn good on paper, i'll join the forum. I really don't want to go down another rabbit hole without hearing them.
Lol, I don't see much of those fish up in N. Fla but I've been an offshore guy all my life... It does resemble some cold water fish I've seen. You must of vacationed the keys in the backwaters. I'm addicted to a 50wide ripping out line...-
See you in the oris forum

Yes, Bonefish don't swim much north than Ft. Lauderdale... I spent winters in South Florida before it got too crowded... And during Covid... Spent 2021-2022 in downtown Miami and the keys and fished Bonefish in Biscayne Bay... Also fish tarpon in the shallows in North Florida, Everglades and the Keys. I have hooked a few big ones 150 lb.s to over 200 lbs. on my fly rod. The below picture was a Tarpon my friend got just south of Tallahassee in the shallows this past May.I had Altec Horns on top of my Khorns for about 5 years, but the Orpheans were much, much better... I don't think about speakers anymore.
Should be someone in South Florida with a pair of Orphean Horns running...If you're ever in Minneapolis Area, I will give you an Audition... Plane tickets are fairly cheap , considering the cost of high end Audio.

I have family in Buffalo but that's another 14 hrs to Minn. but I could always catch a puddle jumper. We get those tarpon up here in late spring and fall, fun to catch. But catching a Cobia on a knuckle buster is equally exciting.
I went 20 yrs without thinking about my Khorns until the forums came along.
Retiring next year so going to build a few more tube amps.
Yes, in this day and age you don't want to think about driving to Minnesota.... I did it in May -- Tallahassee to Minneapolis, But I'm retired and I helped my friend get his vehicle back to Minneapolis. And we decided to go Tarpon Fishing in the Florida Panhandle. So the drive was a last minute idea and I extended my Trip. He spends the winter at his place on the gulf coast in Mississippi and drives down every fall.... I usually drive down with him and Fish in Louisiana for a week and fly home. BTW- Cobia may be my finest eating fish.. Never caught one, but I've casted at a few.
Where in Florida do you live.... I've lived in Jacksonville, Ocala and Tallahassee and Spent Winters in Amelia Island, Cape Coral, Naples, Miami and Islamorada... I winter Internationally now.
I live in Jacksonville near the Mayo Clinic.
Boat is in the back yard on a lift, ready to go at any time.
We have snapper opening up this weekend. Right now, Cobia are on the wrecks and big shark. We have a lot of fishing pressure up here now so I go out 50-60 miles to fish these days.
I lived just off the St. Johns river and Blanding Blvd back in 72-73. I was in the Navy and Stationed at Cecil Field.
