I have a friend who is using the silver 10s on a four x two foot open baffle with wings......loves it. Better than any speaker he has had or made before. He has now added the medium sized ESS Heil AMT on top with a copper foil cap to add a little more air and now will be mounting two 12's or 15's on each side on separate open baffle to be driven by a solid state amp and crossover. He is using a tube amp on the full range and tweet.......he is in love. He is loving the bass with the 10 by itself....but it just cannot move that much air or go that low. These drivers require at least 200 hours of loud hard playing to really break them in. By the Way, he started with the 15 inch Lii's then went to the crystal 10 and then to the silver 10. Still has all the other drivers.
YOU MUST remove the binding post that is mounted on the speaker driver. You connect your speaker wired directly to the voice coil wire.....huge difference. You can strain relieve the wire so it is reliable. Of course, you don't want binding posts on the speaker or anywhere....same with spades, bananas, etc. All sound like crap. Please check out my binding post bypass system....here:

Ric, what led him to move from the 15's to the Crystal 10's and then to the Silver 10's? I assume better sound, but could you say in what way? And about where does the bass roll off with the Silver 10's in that 4x2 open baffle with wings? Thank you.
Yes, faster, cleaner more pure sound. Bass goes lower too. The 10 has a 30hz resonance so actually does very well in the bass:
The baffle is 2 feet wide by 4 feet high, with one foot by 4 foot wings going straight back. The center of the driver is 14 inches from the top of the baffle. The speakers are 6 feet from the rear wall, and 8 feet apart. The right speaker is about a foot from the right wall but the left is 5 feet from the left wall. He listens about 10 feet away. He measured last night flat to 40hz and -5 at 30 hz.....no wonder he was happy with the bass. Amazing speaker.
