I've had a pair for years. Extremely versatile in regard to amplifier choices (I prefer tubes) and they're comfortable playing all genres. Fit/finish is exceptional at this price point as well. I highly recommended the Clarity cap upgrade for an additional $100. In fact, I wouldn't let them leave the Zu facility without it. Jupiter caps are also available, but at a bit higher price. Other options to consider either now or later are the rubber footers and the snubbing resisters if you care to get the impedance closer to 8 ohms. Let your amp make this choice. I use both the rubber footers (concrete floor here) and a pair of 25 ohm snubbing resistors, but these choices will strictly be up to your ear. Summary....excellent all-arounder at this price point even if not on sale. A good choice for the music lover as opposed to those looking to split sonic hairs. Caveats,,,,probably not truly 97db efficient, but an easy drive nonetheless. May find they need additional break-in time to sound their very best.

Of course I will report my findings - in a few months I imagine.

Thx. Another tip is to eventually pick up a pair of Zu Mission Mk.1 speaker cables... BUT only at their ebay auction site where they can be had for under $100. The bidding process is fairly painless, but still something one must endure. These have excellent synergy with the DW's.
FWIW, I ran two pairs of the Mission MKI in a biwire configuration to my Odeons. They weren't sold until I upgraded to Synergistic Research, and that improvement was less significant that I had expected. For the money they go for on the auction site, they're a no-brainer.
Absolutely. A lot of folks dismiss ZU, but I've always been impressed the value and build quality of their products. The Mission 1 speaker cable is a real sleeper. And as you say, an absolute no-brainer at their auction site. And as a bonus if you've won a pair, they'll ask you how you want them terminated. Both termination options are excellent as well.
The only caveat I have about Zu is their power cords. I picked up an Event I think it was, but I didn't keep it long. After trying it in several different places in my system, I felt that it gutted the low frequency response, especially when I tried it on the Monarchy NM-24 I had at the time. But I tried it everywhere to be sure that I was giving it a fair trial.
Yes, I have 2 Events. But now you've got me curious, especially in regard to the one I'm using with an amp. I have a Cullen Xover with Oyaide plugs
that I'd added just laying around. Looks like they'll be an experimental swap out this weekend :)
I'd be curious to hear if your experience mirrors my own.
Very early in process, but you may be on to something. The Cullen seems to have a bit more "pop". The Events will be designated to source component or pre-amp duty if what I'm hearing is confirmed.
There are times I'd prefer to be wrong.
In my system, the Event did the most damage when on the Monarchy DAC - I couldn't get it out of there fast enough. On the CJ preamp it was fairly neutral, but really no better than a Pangea AC14SE. On the power amp, the Sablon absolutely smoked it, but I expected that since the Sablon is a far more expensive PC.
It may be worth noting that at the time, all of my equipment was tube-based. I don't know if that is a relevant factor or not. I still run the KR Antares, but the CJ has been replaced with a Von Gaylord L2. The Monarchy NM-24 was replaced by a PS Audio Directstream Jr, but that was after the Event had already been sold, so I never tried it on that device.
...
I am sure the folks at Zu would approve.
