The "Klipsch Type A" is a simple level matching device. To swap from 16 ohm to 8 ohm mid range drivers, drop the T2A squawker input from #4 to #3 for -3dB 8 ohm input impedance.
The OEM woofer was 4 ohm so 2 x 8 ohm uses the same inductor.
So no parts needed, just reconfigure the T2A autotransformer.

Cool - tanks, guys, for your input - I appreciate it a lot!
Time certainly flies....but at last the above mentioned Altec combo has landed. With some neighbourly help I managed to put the horn/driver combo on top of the bass bins (pretty heavy and bulky, so certainly a two-person job).
Anyway, having the Klipsch A-network in the house I am using this right now. Sounds actually pretty good (with adjusted transformer taps) - and I might live with that for a while. But you know how things are - would a different (passive) crossover sound even better? Any suggestions are greatly welcomed. I understand Altec usually used 12dB networks - would you go that way? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated - thx in advance.
