Greets!
Why not? It's what BD uses. There's TLs, etc., too. Regardless, what you drive them with and how the room will affect their design needs to be factored in.

Follow Ups:
Freddyi consistently reports great slam from his Karlsons, and their retro-coolness factor is pretty much off-the-scale.
Just for the record, you can get very fast, tight bass from a reflex enclosure - you just have to optimize for it. Basically, you use a lower than normal tuning frequency (along with a somewhat larger than normal box). This results in a higher F3 so it won't win the numbers game, but will sound more natural.
Duke
Hi Duke - -years ago Franz Stolz had a setup - maybe with 15" Audax woofer - maybe Franz can be contacted on Bert's forum for opinions.
Best,
Freddy

"Why not?"
Prejudice, perhaps. I think of BR being softer & slower in order to get a bit lower. My Oris's connect to 300B amps, and I have an old 50W SS amp that I use for the low frequencies.
