I should also say that I knew he had collaborated with Robin Guthrie for three albums, but did not even think (surprise!) of where they might fit in to his discography... er, 2005 & 2007, post-Avalon Sutra (2004), which was supposed to be his last.
So, his latest release is A Song for... (though it was recorded up to 2006), and his Guthrie collabs were perhaps later, tho released earlier...
Anyhow, it seems he MAY not have retired, unless there has been an announcement in the last year or so. Either way, it matters not. I still have much of his collection to explore and even if not - he has done what he has done; I desire no more than that.
Cheerio
I can't remember which you have but I would keep an eye open for Glyph (w/Hector Zazou), The Pearl (w/Brian Eno) and Lovely Thunder.
I don't think I paid full price for any of them.
Lovely Thunder is out of print and frightfully expensive, IIRC.
I have Hector Zazou's (may he RIP) Blue Sahara.
Yes, I will keep looking for them at reasonable prices.
Other Budd that I own: la bella vista, music for three pianos (brilliant, but brief), plateaux of mirror, the moon and the melodies, avalon sutra...
Thanx Dave.
