The get together sounds great.
Fred and Ginger are getting used to having a pool to laze around. Ginger, being a resort queen is very at home!
Glad you are enjoying the music so far.
I think Refinement is very cool.
The better the system, the more some of this ambient opens up.
Texture might be one way of putting it.
The new Yasushi Yoshida turned up with the Deupree yesterday but I have only played it on the bedroom system last night and it sounded very good.
I think this guy is tremendous.
It is a bit like the first album but a couple of tracks have a band with a busy drummer, a bit like those Sufjen Stevens discs where it sounds like he has a deconstructed Salvation Army Band playing Zappa's Peaches En Regalia. Well it sounds that way to me...
Where are you living at the moment?
Follow Ups:
I am currently at my sister's place way out in sticks (Springfield Lakes). Some weekends I am back 'home' in Sydney - a nice little place in Newtown. Great area. At the end of this month, my girlfriend and I will be moving back up to West End, where will will live for six months while we look for a place to buy... now thinking Bardon. I also need to get my system sorted - going SETs and horns, I think.
Yeah, I am really enjoying the music. My sciatica kicked the crap out of me for a while, but this ambient thing has gotten me all enthused again. I am now looking to get out amongst some live music. I think we have tickets to Ladytron next month - should be fun. Must see what else is going on.
Okay, I am tired and have got to get some sleep.
Cheers
... keep me informed!
Sorry about the sciatica.
The property market is in the crapper (I believe that is the correct technical term) for the next year, so take your time and get a good price.
When I say "in the crapper" that is only for selling of course... it's great time to buy!!
Albion and the area around Windsor Park are interesting. A major road was going to go in through that park and the council is slowly selling off the houses they bought up to make way for it.It's not much to look at at the moment but it has a station (good for getting to work) and has the park and the new retail and recreation "hub" will bring a lot of interest to the area. If you look on the map look for Windsor park rather than Windsor.
The houses that actually back on to the park are the good ones.
In my opinion!

Yes, hopefully. A ‘small’ well-evolved design to start; probably something (exactly?) like top-spec 4 Pi speakers, possibly with their wood horn. We will see. My main concern with going the horn route is that historically I have not loved speakers with a crossover point in the middle of the critical range. I am not sure if this is because of the crossover point, crossover design, or tweeter type… probably all three, with the later being the most significant. For me, well-designed horns seem to offer a nice set of compromises. There are other options I may yet consider…Thanx for the property tip; we had thought of Albion, though did not know there was a “Windsor Park” – I will definitely look into that. I guess it would be close-ish to Northey Street Farm, my Sunday morning hippie hang-out – a great way to shop.
Hey, Ginger is looking pretty happy in that shot. Very cute. I'll be in touch to arrange a get-together when we are settled - it is gonna be busy times for me until then.
Cheers
