I bought my 325's last year, and have been driving them through my AVA
Super PAS 3i preamp. At first I was asking myself, why did I do this? Bass was very limited, mids and treble were exceedingly bright... However, I have had SR-60's and SR-225's for 10 years and find them very cost-effective, so I would not give up on the 325's. Finally, after 6 months, guessing 50+ hours, they are coming around wonderfully...
Excellent bass, mids and treble very transparent and detailed, not at all bright but matching my memories of live music.
Painful process but worth it!

I found the same thing with my Denon D2000 ...break-in was helping a lot. So, I left them running 24/7 for 20 days (480 hours).
They are well broken in (I'd imagine fully) and sound amazing.

reelsmith's axiom: Its going to be used equipment when I sell it, so it may as well be used equipment when I buy it.
Thanks, Dean, great idea! If I need to break any more in I'll remember...

They have a very manly, meaty sound.
I have a pair of Grado's (225's) ... and the person that sold them to me told me that I should run a variety of music through them without wareing them for 3-4 days straight before doing any sort of critical listening.
Of course, I couldn't wait, and experienced what you did at first, then I followed the burn in advice and afterwards the cans were much more opened up and have been great since.
