Has anyone done this? How difficult is it? I understand that the adhesive is quite strong, so it's a one-shot deal in aligning everything. Jack at Woo Audio advised using Goo Gone very carefully to remove the residual adhesive on my 507 earspeakers. I intend to clean both the stats & the adhesive side of the ear pads before applying replacement adhesive sheets, which I've found on eBay.I'm avoiding posting this on Head-Fi & Head-Case. Folks here are more civilized, and I want to encourage other STAX users here to participate in discussions.
Thanks for the help, as always.

I have replaced the ear pads on 2 different Stax headphones. I just used my finger to rub of the adhesive pad. Worked fine for me, no chemicals needed.
Re-installing the adhesive pad was a little tricky. If you mess up your adhesive sheet, you can always use a very thin double sided sticky tape and use small strips of it until the whole area is covered, but not showing once the pad is installed.
If you remove the earspeakers from the yoke it's easier to work with.
I have a set of Lambda Pros and have done the adhesive two times. It was easier the last time I did it.
I think the adhesive is improved or my fingers have improved.

Don't snap anything off. The rest of it is easy.
The problem is not that there is evil in the world, the problem is that there is good. Because otherwise, who would care?
What plastic bits are you referring to? The yokes? I haven't taken the pads off. The adhesive sheets are coming from Japan. For headphones that are so fantastic & so very expensive, they're fragile & not the best engineered ergonomically. They're clumsy, and I'm convinced I'm going to break something off.

Breaking one wouldn't be good.

yep!
Cut to razor sounding violins
I replaced the pad and the mesh screen thing on my SR-404s no problem. They are sold as package. Considering that I am the klutz that I am, I didn't have too much of a problem installing them, so I betting you won't either !
cheers
