I got these as a present and wish to find a good amp to compliment them. Any advice or other experiences?

Have you thought about whether you'd like tube amp vs. solid state, portable vs. desktop, or target price range?
Also, since you're taking the output from your computer, you might be interested in a combination DAC/amp... although at the same price point you're likely getting less in the amp department. On the other had, having an outboard DAC probably gives you better clarity and 'definition'... and also less "noise".
If you find that listening straight off your sound card tends to be fatiguing... then an outboard DAC/Amp may well be a good step. I'm simplifying, but if the output you're getting now is something you can listen to hours on end but is not very dynamic or exciting -- sounding kind of flat -- then perhaps an amp on it's own might be just the right thing.
Just throwing out some things to consider.
Thanks for the reply. I go from my Asus soundcard via digital toslink directly to my Yamaha amp. I like the digital connections clarity, is
there a dac/amp that will do digital in between the soundcard and the
Yamaha amp? At less than $200.00 dollars?Alan in sunny Seadrift,Tx.

Ah, ok if you like the clarity you're getting out from the Yamaha, then no need to look at different dac. According to spec, it has Burr-Brown 192 kHz/24-bit DACs for all channels. So it sounds to me like you'd want to take the line out (from the preamp) signal from the Yamaha into a desktop amp. Just like you asked to begin with. :-)
There are numerous options for amps, of course. Would you be interested in a tube sound? I've heard the Little Dot Mk II combined with Grados headphones which are perhaps of similar sensitivity as your Sennheisers. I thought it gave the Grado 'phones a light touch of warmth and a good sense of dynamic play. I think it would be in your price range. Of course there are many solid state options as well.
Thanks and yes the Little Dot is right up my alley. The cans are starting
to break-in and I really like them. 32 ohms impedance is fine for now.
I've never used headphones for critical listening but these cans do the trick fine, if I really get the Bug I'll look into a better pair.
For now the Yahama is performing well on it's own.Cheers! Alan
