The CD Box RS is a transport, meaning it only has digital outputs on the back.

The Beyerdynamic amp has analog inputs.

I'd recommend browsing your local Craigslist ads for a CD player. A Rega Planet, Claifornia Audio Labs, Audio Alchemy, Creek, Arcam, etc. player should be available for not too much coin. For example, near me there is a Pioneer DV-09 DVD player for $70 that will be an excellent sounding unit.

in the UK so a lot of that doesnt apply

if im looking to get new what sort of CD player (not transport) should i look at for the beyer combo - if the arcam is not sufficient

  The UK doesn't have local classified ads? There are a zillion fancy CD players in the London Craigslist classified ads...
  
  The Arcam is fine. You'll save significantly if you can buy one that's a few years old.
