But the Clears are more punchy and fun to listen to on rock, electronic, etc.

If I had to pick one over the other it would be a very hard choice.

Neither has the resolution of my L700's but they're all super fun to listen to.

I have a pair of the original Stax Lambda Pros and I lived with that sound for the past 18 years. Wonderful resolution...impossible to reproduce that kind of sound in a speaker.
