Mike,
Thanks for the info. I don't know if I am ready to build this, but it sure is nicely done.
Thanks for the help. I will call AKG so see if I can fix this amp to get started.

AKG tech support may even tell you which component is likely to fail. That is a nice little headphone tube amp..I think you can do it down the road and it would be a good learning experience for you..The biggest issue would be punching holes in the chassis for the tube sockets..They have chassis punch sets for 20 dollars on Ebay and for limited use, they work pretty well.
Mike,
Thanks again. I am taking the amp and the schematic (my German is shaky, even with the name Edelmann), to my tech with 40 years experience. I will take your suggestion of feeling for warmth. He will either take the advice or laugh at it, as with 40 years experience, he thinks he knows it all, and he is right about 95% of the time. We will make it work, and then I will rebuild the 30-A's this winter, because I just want to hear them.
I love this hobby!

Feeling for overheated components is one of the best ways to spot suspect components at times..I normally bring it up on a variac and start checking voltages because you are able to bring it down to operating parameters if your regulator isn't working properly.I have even seen high rail voltages cause shutdown problems..
