Listening to an album in the evening is my special time. Lights off, doors closed, one director's chair. Was never aware of conversations and arrangements outside my world were sometimes put on hold like the attached text regarding upcoming Easter dinner.
All of these years I've never said "do not disturb."
Now recalling one session a couple of years ago one of my sons had popped in to borrow a tool and carefully Ninja'd through my listening space only with a glance and a thumbs up.
Makes me smile.

And sometimes lately, my girls (14 & 11) will come in and even request a song or 2 (pushing their luck :)).
They're always polite "can we come in?" and never ask for Taylor Swift. LOL. My 11-year-old maybe would ask for something like that but knows it's not in my collection. Only negative? They're 14 & 11 and love to talk. Gotta stop them sometimes.
Current son and daughter requests on the refrigerator's dry-erase board...
Improvisations on Christmas (Jean Guillou)
No disco
Space sounds
Zappa
Planets (Holst)
Four Seasons (Vivaldi)
Your interest may vary but the results will be same. (Byrd 2020)
I can't compete with the dead. (Buck W. 2010)
Cowards can't be heroes. (Byrd 2017)
Why don't catfish have kittens? (Moe Howard 1937)
Guessing they're a bit older than 14 & 11.
Older daughter's most common requests; Hotel California and something by Eminem.
Ah nice!
We had boys, but our 12 year old grandaughter makes up for the talking and then some LOL!
She received a vinyl copy of one of Taylor Swift's albums this past Christmas but more as a keepsake as everything is pretty much "Hey Google." "Play..."
