On US Audio Mart, I just sold two different items to two different people on the same day, and they're both from Brookfield, Wi! And they don't know each other.
NYC or LA maybe, but Brookfield? Wisconsin?? What are the odds?

I have another audiophile in my neighborhood, but how does one introduce oneself to a fellow crazy? Ours is almost a solidary hobby. It's not like tennis or sailing that one needs to go with someone else to make a good go of it.

Speaking of the difficulty of meeting fellow audiophiles, a few years ago I flew to London to visit my daughter and her family. Being a bald headed man I frequently wear caps or hats. On that trip I wore an Audio Asylum baseball cap from the Atlanta airport to Heathrow, all around London and in the Scottish Highlands thinking that a fellow audiophile would notice and we could strike up a conversation about stereo. Not one person ever mentioned it.
I dream of an America where a chicken can cross the road without having it's motives questioned.
There were two significant clubs during my years in San Diego, plus a smaller one which only lasted a couple of years. Not only were they educational with presentations by designers and manufacturers of many major brands, they provided connectivity with others with similar interests living in the area. I made many friends over the years which resulted in our visiting one another's homes to hear a variety of systems, but expanded social groupings by meeting for lunch, attending concerts together, auditioning and commenting on new equipment, and simply hanging out together for fun with those of common interests.
Several lasting friendships came out of this.
