I think your demographic assessment of the local citizenry is pretty accurate.

I will not be going to any shows. There are none near me, and I do not travel well these days, for various reasons, not the least of which is the expense involved. I would go to a show if (1) it was close by, (2) entry was reasonably priced, and (3) there might be some interesting gear on display, and hopefully some cd/vinyl vendors on hand.
