I ordered a combination DAC/Headphone unit from eBay and I don't expect delivery for 2-3 months (they tell me about some Chinese New Year and no one works for at least a week). And they already charged me for it. Having my doubts about the Chi-Fi express via eBay.To tide me over, I'm getting the K-11 today. I never had a DAC I've been satisfied with in my system, but I'll see/hear what this brings. Interested in 12-volt power supplies now in case I think there is room for improvement.

so how did it sound?
The K11 is probably just a no-brainer. How could anyone make anything better and at that price point? I doubt it. It is a very finished product with ~almost~ no drawbacks, for the price. My setup is optical from computer and out to a low-impedance Beyerdynamics headphone.
Sound is very clear. Has enough low end to be somewhat musical, but that's it on the musical side.
I played around with what I had trying all the reasonable combinations to be sure I'm not being biased.
I'm now using an outboard headphone amplifier. It will get me by until the Yulong DAC/headphone unit arrives (at 4.5x the cost and uncertain delivery time).
What I liked about the K11 is that I can later upgrade the power supply which you cannot do with the newer SMSLs and Toppings which operate on line juice only.
[I edited this post from the original and, hopefully, my opinion will not change, right :-)]
Not bad with a good quality outboard headphone amplifier which it sorely needed with the Beyerdynamics DT1350, so that pushes it over to the outright bargain side.
