Has anyone have an issue with Bluesound Vault not reading CD'S? Spent a few hours ripping CD's then all of a sudden unit stopped reading CD's. CD's are very clean and not scratched. Contacted customer support but wondering in the mean time if I have any other options. Thanks.

You can do the same as a Bluesound Vault on any old PC with a free download of Vortexbox. Just need a PC with a CD drive,a hard disk and a network connection.
Easiest to use is the 2.4 iso
I agree with Rod M on this one. Had the original vault and after a couple of hrs would overheat and stop working. Shut it down for an hour or so and fire it back up and it will work for another couple of hrs before doing the same thing. Btw, there is no mention of this in the manual. I ended up returning it.
You may have just over heated it. Turn it off, have a drink and try it in the morning.
If the CD ripper proves to be defective, I wonder if you can rip on your computer and just copy the files to the Vault, likely not, but it's a work around.

Great pic
is that Geddy Lee when he was 16?
I just use the Blu Ray burner in my old Dell Studio for ripping music via dbPoweramp and video with MKV.
Still going strong...
Yup. All in one's bite you in the butt when one feature in the box goes belly up. With a PC/Mac and an external USB DVD/CD burner, who cares if it goes belly up after ripping a few hundred CDs? Just buy a new one off Amazon for $15.
He -might- be able to just transfer ripped files from his PC/Mac. Or possibly replace the internal DVD/CD mechanism if it's accessible once the unit is cracked open.

CD cleaning discs? I was speaking to a manufacturer of CD players/transports few years ago. He said that the majority of faulty CD players returned to him had been damaged by CD cleaning discs which had knocked the collimator lens off of the optical pickup unit. He suggested trying to blow any dust or other contamination off of the OPU using compressed air.Otherwise, the OP's risk.

...will often agree with you that a lens cleaning disc can cause damage. There's also plenty of "how to clean a player's lens", frequently in the same posts.
I don't have one, but if you've been at it for a couple of hours, maybe it just needs a reboot. Try unplugging and let it sit for a bit.
Or the lens may need to be cleaned, as would a regular cd player. But I don't know what the laser assembly is like, so it might be best to wait until you either hear back from them, or someone on the Asylum with similar experience.
Cheers!
