Well, I'm not sure about how advanced it is just yet, but it is what's generically known as a digital reconstruction filter, which is also known as an digital anti-image filter, and also known as an digital interpolator. Yes, it's inside the Denon unit, as such a circuit is inside most other DACs and CD/DVD players.

Yes, I know what a reconstruction filter is. I have been designing digital video gear since the mid 1980s when the television industry was still very much analog interconnect.
8 bits at 4x NTSC subcarrier, 14.318180mhz clock in the early 1980s was pushing it!
Digital Audio - more bits, less bandwidth.
