Listening now to her playing the Rachmaninoff Second, LA Dudamel; DG
All 4 Concertos and Paganini Rhapsody
It's newly listed on Apple Classical and a treat even over my kitchen radio system. I have a half dozen different recordings and participated in performances with Eunis Podice and William Kraft. This is the most enjoyable by far.
She's a wonder.

Follow Ups:
Eunice Podis played more performances (well over 100) with the Cleveland Orchestra than any other soloist.
But whoever heard of Eunice Podis outside of Cleveland? She did a few recitals in NYC but mostly was an excellent teacher. She gave the world premiere of the Mennin piano concerto with Szell/Cleveland, but has that piece ever been heard from since?
She was a fine musician whom I heard a number of times here in CLE; she deserved wider reknown than she ever had.

I recognized the name, from the 1980s with the Cleveland Orchestra...... Nice that Eunice is still around......

I apologize for the false presumption....... RIP.
Let's face it: anyone with a name like Eunice Podice was not destined to be a star.
Would he have been less popular had he been named Yo Ma Ma?
No, but maybe Ma Ma Yo!
An acquaintance of mine, a wonderful jazz singer from Vietnam is named Dong Lan. That's a tough name to work with. But she is a fantastic singer!
Never judge a book by it's title. Is that how it goes?
Beautiful voice! Btw, it's "Don't judge a book by its cover."
But she spelled it PODIS (not that this should make any difference in her fame).
I can think of a lot of musicians with names that are transformable into oddities, but I think I'll stop with Emanuel AxMurderer:)
If she needs a midget to work the foot pedals for her, tell her I'm for hire.
Especially Variation 18... so delicate!

. . . a few of us here are unhappy with the inconsistencies in the engineering on that album. The whole discussion is in a recent thread below.
That's one of the good things about Low-Fi.
