Well, I did order the Accuphase power cord, but seems to be taking a while getting here. Let me see how it compares to the Monosaudio P902 power cord, which failed to make the grade for my main system. It was a very midrange-forward sound in that "copper" way, exactly where my compression driver/horns are vivid, not a good match.
I can't think of cost-effective AC plugs for the cheap Accuphase cord that will result in "better top end extension | better layering of detail." Rather, you might want to tweak the sound by changing the AC wall plug.
Follow Ups:
Thanks Jon L.
It has worked itself out | I'm willing to leave things as is.
And as for AC Receptacles, I use both an Oyaide R1 | R0 on either side of the main system in conjunction with a Puritan Audio Labs PSM-136 PLC.
As you're already using their receptacles you're familiar with their sound. The R1 being Palladium over Platinum over Beryllium Copper and The R0 unplated Beryllium Copper. Gold is missing from the equation but they're both nicely extended on the frequency extremes.
Joe
Thanks Joe,
I'm sorry to have missed your response | at this stage as I'm looking to stick with both the R1 | R0 Receptacles, I'm merely trying to find a responsive enough plating on said Accuphase 40th Anniversary Edition PC | more likely with ride of the option as usual for a Rhodium Plated Copper AC Male | Copper IEC Female, but for an added twist as I've noticed on several forums many seem to feel the general public has been dunked into thinking rhodium is the only way to go, and many of them have chosen to use silver plated copper instead..., as I was told by the distributor of the IeGO Dreamworks plugs in Taiwan, rhodium isn't even in high demand when customers order their plugs.
But paying attention to what Tangram has recommended | heard by replacing the XLR connectors on his Accuphase 40th XLR IC's, I felt obliged to buy a pair of the ones shown above | as their overall sound was in fact quite lovely | but I felt they were lacking in that last bit of top end extension | resolution, but am thinking that his recommendation for using rhodium plated RCA connectors makes a great deal of sense, so both said version above. Cheap as they're there's a sound in which I've to believe is worthy of holding onto them for a rainy day or when I merely crave a slightly warmer presentation | once again I can't think of a single audio related item one can obtain for a mere $27.
Tangram your logical options does in fact weighs in on buying another pair | THANKS for being the voice of reason.
Joe, Happier Belated New Year to you | yours, as it has been awhile since I've seen you active here | it's nice knowing you're still around.
