Is there an extender or adapter for an AC outlet that doesn't degrade (or minimally degrades) the performance of a high-end power cord? Thanks much.

I think the Hubbell HBL 4PLEX 20 along with the Hubbell HBL 4API adapter plate is pretty much what the OP is after, it certainly is the best solution. This will give you 4 hospital grade outlets right from the existing outlet box with no stacked connections or cords. These are available with a Deep Cryo Treatment as well.

....nice and compact....and inexpensive. There are other models with captive power cables, but I don't think that's what you asked for. I do not know how it sounds, or if it's a quality-made product. Inexpensive power products are generally not good sounding.Me? I would deep-cryo treat this product to make it better.

What you describe seems to be an AC power tap. I've never experienced an ordinary power tap that does not notably degrade performance. A power strip/power line distributor is an extender, and I found a Tripp Lite PS-602-HG Hospital Grade power strip to sound rather good when used as an auxiliary power distributor for secondary audio components in a second system. It features a short-length 1.5 foot captive power cord and six sockets via three Hospital Grade duplex AC outlets. No power switch, surge suppression, or other filters, just a circuit breaker. Upgrade the stock molded AC plug for better performance.

How about this:
here's something that might work. That one is for 15 amp. I'm sure you can find something at Home Depot.
Kinda confused on what it is you are trying to accomplish :-)
No experience with this but it seems like an honest approach to a multi-way outlet for a low price.

Too bad it needs an additional power cord..... Would be nice if there was a version that plugs directly into an outlet.
Todd, how long cords do you need?
