I have got as far as I can with all the parts supplied. The quality of the components, PCB`s and case work is all top class.
The M2 X power supply took a bit of working out as there is no specific instructions available for it yet, nor a circuit diagram but using the manual and photo`s provided it all came together OK.
Take time to go through the placing of the components and double check everything, even get a second opinion if possible.
I would recommend this kit to anyone with a bit of electronic building experience, but for a first time outing the Dac 1 or the power amp may be better to start with.

The Dac is now finished. Tested OK so played a couple of Cd`s through it.
Very good even from cold. I will let you know how it sounds as it burns in.
Give us some additional news of your DAC-4.1 ! my own is currently in the assembly phase...
I have put some hours onto the Dac now and can say that it is a superb kit. The depth of soundstage has widened way beyond the speakers and kept all the analogue qualities that make a fatigue free listening experience.
It has been running constantly with a CD playing on repeat over the weekend so I will have a good listen tonight to see how the Blackgates are burning in.
If anyone is thinking about making one of these kits and are wondering about the finished items sound quality, GO BUY IT, It is superb !
I have never heard such good digital replay ever before. It will take time to burn in and you will wonder what you have done as after a while it does not sound good. Do not be alarmed, it is burning in. Mine has been switched on permanently ever since built and I would say that it is coming on song now. No listener fatigue, powerful bass that you will feel and hear, sweet detailed treble that will tell you all about the recording venue and the midrange for vocal communication and image placement available for the most critical listeners. Do not listen to one if you cannot buy it, it is that good.
Happy listening,
Alex.
