Hi,
if you have standard Black Gate, at least 200 hours. During this time all other components will be fully break in. If you have non polar BG N series, at least 500 hours in my experience.

Beto
there are Black gate FK 470uf 16v on the cathode
total 4 of them and tantalum resisters in the amplifier stage
what are your ears telling you ?
i also used fk caps but not sure how long break in took
to me mine sounds very clear and without boominess, but i guess it depends what you are comparing it to (what was your old one ?)
it may be that there is just more bass and there is now a balance in your system you don't immeadiatly like
probably best to wait and see what happens ?
this was my old one

To my ears it sounds good a little thinner then my old preamp
and the bass is a little more boomy
and the sound is not as clean but the L3 has more detail.
But i talking here about a new just building kit
my old amp was 2 years old
i have also used different wire instead of the Audio Note signal cable this is in back order
i use now 0,4 mm solid silver (26 awg)
Ask Brian at AN kits, he will tell you.
I sent him allready 2 mails also about missing parts but i get no answere
Don't worry! I bought 2 kits (DAC2.1 Level C and PreAmp L2) from Brian last month and both of them had missing parts. Brian ordered the missing parts from www.partsconnexion.com and directly sent them to me.
