i used 31dq10 as well. i chose these because they were cheap and they were can cope with the voltage and current (probably over specified but on the safe side. you need 4 of these to replace each big bridge rectifier in the filament supplies. i've heard differing opinons on wether all schotties are equal sonically. i did the same in my L3
i got mine from rs or farnell in the uk. they are not rare, you could get them from any similar suppier i expect
i found it easyer to cut through the legs on the old bridges as unsoldering them without doing this was too difficult. they are cheap and common to replace if you decided to go back. you need to make sure you put the new ones in the right way around. i got one wrong, it shorted out, melted and took out the reg chip as well which fortunatly was cheap and easy to source and replace
sonicaly the sound is smoother and less grainy. i thought it was a subtle but worthwhile improvement. i would suspect the 6SH7 sopply is less critical as it is not directly heated like the 300b (heater and cathode are electricallly common) though there is still the potential for rf hash from ths bridges being injected back into the mains transformer and getting into the HT.
i'll try to take a photo in a day or two when i get time

Richard, excellent info, thanks. Since you offer--I'd very much appreciate a picture.
Any drawbacks?
Thanks again.
Doug

sorry about the terrible quality
the thing behind is a common mode choke in the heater supply to the 300b
