Has anybody wired a sub woofer output on a kit 1 or 2. Would it be possible simply to run a wire from the attenuators output? Or do I need to add a resistor?
Thanks
Paul

Depends on the sub (whether powered or not, and if powered, whether line or speaker level input)... What sub do you intend to use?
Hi GTCharlie.
I want to use a powered sub, so I need a line level output. I use the Kit 2 volume control as I have no pre amp.
Thanks
Paul
If you're still shopping for a sub, look for a model which accepts "speaker level" input. This means you just connect it to the speaker binding post at the back of your amplifier. Once you adjust balance in relation to your main left/right speakers, the sub is controlled by the volume pot in the amp. Get a model with adjustable frequency cut-off, and a volume potentiometer. Size and power will depend on : your main speakers, the room, and the kind of music you mostly play. Generally, a ten incher, with a 100-150watt amp should do very well. Hope this helps. What speakers are you using Paully?
Hi GTCharlie
How does the arrangement you recommend work? Does the sub act as a high pass filter and pass a filtered signal to the speaker, or does it tap the speaker in a benign fashion and let the whole signal (unfiltered by crossovers) through to the speaker?
I am about to try out a single driver back loaded horn speaker (FE126E Fostex based), so I would loath to send the signal through a crossover. The whole idea of going single driver is to avoid passive crossovers.
For the interim I was thinking of purchasing a parts express sub. They have some inexpensive subs that work quite well that allow for adjustable frequency cut off.
Thanks
Paul
great. Are you using the 126 in the Fostex reflex/horn box? or Ed Schilling's or which enclosure.... Your main speaker/horn gets signal direct from the amp speaker binding post. And so would your sub. JUst get a sub which accepts speaker level input. Hope this helps.
