I just reread what I wrote and I would have to change speaker cables regardless. Main speakers would be connected to the 2a3. So I would have to take the cables of the monoblocks and connect them to the SS amp. That's better than at the speaker end though.

I looked up the Ayre - they claim no feedback - and modular - It's on their website so perhaps it is still in current production. Probably pretty expensive though.

Second hand might be ok as well since typically it doesn't hold value very well at all.
