my concern in posting was not to have anyone think the recommended product had unquestioned results, since, to my knowledge the suspension has never been incorporated by Michell at any time , is not patented , and is not offered on the Mitchell site as an upgrade, although a tone arm isolation strategy not devised by Michell is offered on the site, so incorporating outside ideas is not unknown with this company. After all, if it improves the product, offering an aftermarket improvement would only increase revenues.
And, after so many years on the market, it would seem a simple thing to provide some testing showing specific measurable performance improvement using the pylons.
perhaps the posters original springs were damaged or installed incorrectly, because once I got the base level, correctly setting the springs was easy and gave stable results for me. Because of the sprung suspension, I did have to use a laser line for a no touch level platter measurement. I can't imaging what would make the springs go constantly out of adjustment, since they are not really designed to travel, like a cars active suspension would , instead they just hang, preferably inertly.I have heard of other people saying the suspension is tricky, but I never could figure why, unless one has OCD and can't leave a final result alone.
