Funny you ask about this today, as I just tried placing three ceraballs under my AR CD2 and VTL 5.5 preamp just last night. I wasn't really expecting much, but when I first placed them under the CDP, I noticed a subtle increase in low-level information. I then placed a set under the preamp and the improvement was much more dramatic.I'm now considering getting a set under my VTL MB 125's, but that may have to wait a few weeks. I initially got the two sets to place under my DAL SC-IV, per the suggestion of Rob Thomas, but decided to try it under my equipment first. Sonically, it was a good move but financially, it probably was not as I still need to get a set under the speakers to see how they improve, plus the mono's. Oh well.
I picked up two packages of Ceraball from Music Direct for $208.00. Not chump change by any means, but also not that much. The best thing about it is they offer a 30-day money back guarantee on their products so you can try it at home and if it doesn't work for ya you can return it.
Good luck in whatever you choose.
Ciao
