I read in the DIY Tube archive (I think) that 60% of tube microphonics can be attributed to the socket and the rest to the chassis and the air. I would try to isolate the socket from the chassis. I use "O rings" for tube dampning...$1.30 for 10.You could try to dampen the chassis with Dynamat etc. I think you preamp will sound a bit like what ever it is setting on...if you don't want your sound colored, set it on something that is ascousticly dead. My favorite is 3cm thick soapstone.
Visit a toy store...look for some squishy balls to use a isolation feet.
