Re: Have you addressed chassis-borne vibrations?

Yes. I recently disassembled the unit (an Ah! Njoe Tjoeb 4000) and damped the chassis and cover with Dynamat. I also did a "rap test" to locate other resonances and rattles, and treated all of these with rope caulk, including the transport mechanism. I also placed cloth tape behind the face plate to keep the plastic push button assemblies from rattling.

One last thing. Even with the inside of the cover damped with Dynamat, I could till hear (and feel) some humming from the transport motor and power supply, so I now have two 1-gallon ziplock bags with sand on top of the unit. The bags are not even close to full - they hold enough sand to lay flat on the cover when folded in half (about the thickness of a big magazine). I have one on each side. I tested this by placing my ear on top of the unit with no sand, with one bag, and with two. There is now very little noise in the unit.

I've done numerous experiments in the last year with different feet, roller balls, and cones, as well as different platforms (cutting boards, MDF, granite, etc.) and the combination I described in my original post has provided the best sound and imaging for my system.
