Here is what I currently have under my CD player. I built a 3-1/2" deep sandbox, which sits on top of a partially inflated inner tube. On top of the sand is a 1" thick granite slab. My CD player sits on top of the granite, using 1" superballs (cut in half) as feet. All of this rests on the top shelf of my equipment rack. If I put my ear on top of the CD player and rap on the rack shelf, I hear no vibrations.The detail and soundstage is the best I've experienced with my system.
