I once saw an excellent post on this board for a flexy alternative. This recipe called for stacking Ikea Lak tables. (1) Cut the legs to the appropriate lengths. (2) Isolate each table by putting wood screws into the bottom of each leg. (3) Put spikes on the bottom level. Makes sense to me.
