My response was meant to be somewhat tongue in cheek, reflecting the abysmal state of our Canadian dollar. And yes, certain high ticket items are lower priced in Canada (ie. my Nissan Altima that's made in the U.S.) if you come to Canada and pay in U.S.$$. But the average Canadian doesn't get paid in U.S.$$. A Sony DVP9000, for example is available from Oade Bros. apparently for about $800 mail order in the U.S. which equates to about $1,200 Cnd. The Sony store in Ontario sells them for $1,900 plus 15% for PST and GST. That's $2185 versus $1200.
