Proof is in the listening!I think your choke should works. More then 10 times is OK. You can try more than one CLC. A CLCLC should works great too but be really carefull of suppressing spurius spike and you'll be set.
I've heard by a audio digital "engineer" that less than 2 meter of digital cable makes the signal weak because the impedance is not stable. Go figure!
