Never quite figured it out. I've built transformer based tube amps with a few hundred volts here and there (600V peak) and they bite very, very hard when you stop paying attention for even a moment. (Alas, this I know for certain.) I've never quite understood how a transformer could make things safer, assuming the unit was properly fused. What have I been missing? Thanks in advance.
