Jesus, I should have done my homework better prior to opening my mouth. Obviously you are right. The last time I looked into DAC2 was some 3 years ago and a couple of joints ago (for listening that is) so my long term memory must have worsened recently.
B-B is PCM63 indeed and I was misinformed by A-N dealer as per the absence of digital filter.The problem was that I was approached with this request by phone, and had to answer something prior to peeking under the hood.
Are you a Blacg Gate believer like Quvortrup and Kondo? I just hate their delivery times and "holes" in the stocked range. That is why I would rather go plastic. Audibly the blackgated AN gear is really nice I must confess.
The problems started when the owner A-B'd the DAC-2 (already NOS tubed plus AN-copper foil paper in oil) with my Wadia. Bass was infinitely better with the 16, and the rest was just plain a little better. So he got his upgrade bug, but I hate to see him blowing his annual income on overpriced shit like Wadia. (hehehe)
